The 2023–24 Ghana Premier League winners, FC Samartex 1996, are getting ready to play in the CAF Champions League as Ghana’s representative.

The team was disappointed not to be able to play in front of their home crowd despite their excitement.

Management member Alex Ayamba underlined how important their fans were to their league success.

“Our supporters we would have loved to play in front of our supporters if you look at the league we won they played a pivotal role. We are very comfortable playing in front of our supporters so we would have loved to play it here but we couldn’t,” he told Peace FM

Samartex had six weeks of intense training before playing Victoria United in their first preliminary match. Additionally, the team hosted and triumphed in the 2024 Nsenkyire Cup, introducing the new additions to their ardent fan base. The performances of important players, such as Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli, Japhet Norvienyo, and Kofi Agbesimah, delighted the local supporters.

Despite not having a home game, FC Samartex is nevertheless intent on having a significant effect on the esteemed continental league.
