Black Princesses Arrive Home After Early FIFA World Cup Exit

Black Princesses

Following their early elimination from the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, the Black Princesses have returned home.

On Tuesday, the Black Princesses, technical staff, and management team members landed in Accra. Six players, meanwhile, came straight from Colombia to play for their respective clubs: Jenna Sapong, Helen Alormenu, Alexandra Emefa Tay, Salamatu Abdulai, Tracey Twum, and Asana Alhassan.

After two losses and a victory in Group E, Ghana was unable to go past the group stages for the eighth time in a row.

The Black Princesses suffered a crushing defeat to Japan in the second game after losing their opening match to Austria, who were making their debut.

They made amends, though, by defeating New Zealand 3-1 in their last group match, but it was insufficient to advance Ghana.
