Ghana’s AFCON 2025 qualification hopes ‘low to impossible’ – Angola coach

Pedro Goncalves, the coach of Angola, has questioned Ghana’s chances of making it to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, calling them “low to impossible.”

Even though the Black Stars have little chance of qualifying, winning their final two games—against Niger in Accra and Angola on Friday, November 15—is crucial. Additionally, Ghana needs Sudan to lose their next matches against Angola and Niger.

Goncalves emphasized the difficult task Ghana confronts, saying that if Sudan defeats Niger on Thursday, it will guarantee Ghana’s elimination before they even play Angola in Luanda.

“While Ghana is undoubtedly a strong contender, their chances of qualifying are low to impossible at the moment,” he stated.

Ghana would miss out on the tournament for the first time since 2004 if they don’t qualify, which might lead to major changes in the composition of the national team.
