Lawrence Ati Zigi, Ghana’s goalkeeper, demonstrated excellent talents in front of teammates during training at the Accra Sports Stadium before of their match against Madagascar.
Ati-Zigi, Ghana’s number-one goalkeeper since the 2022 World Cup, was invited as one of the country’s three shot-stoppers and has participated completely in the team’s training session.
However, a video released by the Black Stars’ official Twitter handle demonstrating the St. Gallen netminder’s ball-juggling abilities has garnered fascinating social media remarks.
As he juggled the ball with both feet in the midst of several teammates, including Thomas Partey and Daniel Amartey, who equally applauded his talents while passing cheerful comments, the goalkeeper’s skills provided the appearance of a multitalented player.
If Ghana’s previous games are any indication, Lawrence Ati Zigi will likely stay in his position for the match against Madagascar as Ghana looks to qualify for the 2019 AFCON, which will be hosted in the Ivory Coast.
Ghana has eight points after four games and needs one more victory to qualify. If Madagascar lost, it would mark the end of their campaign.
