During a virtual meeting on Friday, June 21, 2024, the CAF Executive Committee decided on the dates for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in Morocco.

The final match of the tournament is set for Sunday, January 18, 2026, with the competition starting on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Dr. Patrice Motsepe, the president of CAF, voiced confidence in the competition’s success during the meeting, predicting that AFCON Morocco 2025 will be the most memorable in the competition’s history.

After lengthy deliberations with multiple stakeholders, the decision was taken while taking into account the schedules of both home and foreign matches.
