Ebenezer Assifuah scores late winner for Kedah Darul Aman in Malaysia

In the final moments of play, Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Assifuah came off the bench to give Kedah Darul Aman their first win of the season in the premier division of Malaysia.

With twenty minutes remaining in the away match against Penang FC, the former FIFA U20 Golden Boot winner replaced Milos Gordic and took seven minutes to get his name on the scoresheet.

In the 77th minute, the 30-year-old striker wrapped around the Penang goaltender and slotted home to earn Kedah their first victory in four games.

After ten years in Europe, Assifuah made the decision to relocate in January 2023, when he signed a two-and-a-year contract with Kedah. He is anticipated to be a key player in the upcoming campaign as the team from Northern Malaysia looks to finish in the top half of the 2024–2025 league.

Richmond Ankrah, an Assifuah native, was playing for Penang FC in the interim. The former defender for the Accra Lions played the whole way through.
