Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, a former Ghanaian midfielder, has demanded that Carlos Queiroz's contract be made public by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), claiming that the Black Stars coach cannot be fairly evaluated in the absence of clarity regarding the terms of his appointment.

The former Black Stars midfielder stated that Queiroz's contract length and the goals associated with it should be made public by the GFA and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

"I'm not sure if he has a one-, two-, or three-year deal. We are pleading with the sports ministry and the federation. He told Pulse Ghana, "They ought to let us know the terms of the contract."


In order to lead Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Queiroz was first hired in April 2026. He guided the Black Stars to the Round of 32 before Colombia eliminated them.

The terms of the deal have not been made public, despite the GFA's announcement on September 2 that it has reached a new coaching mandate with the Portuguese manager following the competition.

Uncertainty, according to Agyemang-Badu, makes it challenging to decide whether Queiroz is expected to oversee a longer-term rebuilding process or produce results right now.


"Because what should I say right now if I want to talk about the coach? I'm not sure if he's only participating in the qualifying. He won't be taking us to the African Cup after that. He is not participating in the World Cup qualifications, and I'm not sure if he is leading us to the African Cup," he remarked.

The winner of the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup contended that determining whether a coach has had enough time to assemble a competitive team depends on the length of their contract.
