Ahead of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, the Ghanaian U20 female national team, known as the Black Princesses, has left for Colombia.
In order to continue getting ready for the competition, which starts on August 31, the squad departed Accra on Tuesday night and traveled to Bogota.
Ghana is participating in its sixth World Cup and is seeking to advance past the group round for the first time.
The past champions Japan, New Zealand, and Austria are in Group E with the West Africans.
Ghana’s campaign will kick off on September 2 against Austria, a European team. Japan and New Zealand, two Asian powerhouses, will be the opponents in the following games.
The team has been preparing for the World Cup since winning the African Games gold in March. The Black Princesses started camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence before moving to Cape Coast.
