Frimpong Manso, a former Ghanaian international, has urged the Black Stars’ playing body to alter their mindset and thinking over the team’s future.
Manso’s comments follow the team’s dismal showing in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying tournament.
The Black Stars are in danger of missing out on the AFCON event, which will be held in Morocco next year, as they are winless after four games and currently sit third in Group F with just two points.
The Bibiani GoldStars coach, however, stated in an interview that the team’s players need to adopt a new mindset.
He also urged the team’s technical managers to bench players who appear to put their clubs before representing their country.
On Friday, November 15, Ghana will host Angola at the Estádio 11 de Novembro. On Monday, November 18, Ghana will welcome Niger in their final match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
With only two points from four games, the Black Stars are currently in third position in Group F and are working against all odds to make it to the tournament.
Ghana must win both of its remaining games and hope Sudan loses its next games against Niger and Angola in order to qualify for AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
