GHANA BLACK STARS COACH CHRIS HUGHTON INVITES NEW DEFENDER

Ghana Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has invited Amiens Sc center-back Nicholas Opoku to join the Black Stars team in Angola ahead of the Angola clash.

The Palancas Negras will play against the Black Stars in an AFCON Qualifier match on Monday, 27th March, 2023 at the 11 November Stadium in Angola. Ghana defeated Angola last Thursday by a goal to nil credit to Antoine Semenyo’s 90+6 goal.

Nicholas Opoku, 25, the Ghanaian defender who plays for the Ligue 2 side has earned a late call-up to join the Black Stars after four key players missed out on the reverse fixture due to injuries ie Andre Ayew, Alexander Djiku, Denis Odoi, and Mohammed Salisu.

Amiens Sc confirmed Nicholas Opoku’s late call-up in a Tweet below.

Nicholas has played all 24 matches for the Ligue 2 side this season with an assist to his credit. He comes into Black Stars to join Daniel Amartey and Joseph Aidoo, the two centre-backs left.
