Ransford Gyan, a midfielder, has been awarded the top high school player in the United States of America for the second year running.
Ransford Gyan was presented with the Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year trophy on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at a youth soccer event in Tennessee.
The Nsawkaw native is the first player to win the award twice in a row.
Gyan, who attended St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey, tallied 28 goals and 14 assists to help his team win the New Jersey Prep School championship game.
He also won three Gatorade New Jersey player of the year awards. He received the award from his coaches and teammates in Tennessee during a youth soccer tournament.
