Lawrence Agyekum, a Ghanaian midfielder at Cercle Brugge, on Sunday impressed his club by scoring and assisting in their draw match against K.V. Kortrijk in the Belgian Pro League.
Lawrence recently earned a call-up to the senior national team of Ghana, where he played till the 83rd minute before he was substituted for Adu Francis.
K.V Kortrijk on Sunday took the lead in the 14th minute; Cercle Brugge then fought back, but their effort wasn’t paying off until Agyekum’s strike to level the scores in the 54th minute; he continued his impactful moves in the game and provided an assist for Thibo Somers, who scored to put the club ahead in the 80th minute.
However, their hopes of victory were dashed late in the match when Abdelkahar Kadri struck to secure a point for K.V. Kortrijk.
Agyekum’s goal was his first of the season, coming after 28 league appearances. His impressive display highlights his growing influence in the team as the season progresses.
