
Michelle Agyemang, a teenage girl from Arsenal, was ecstatic on Tuesday night after scoring in her England Women’s debut.
In their match against Belgium Women in the UEFA Nations League, the Ghanaian-born forward was able to play her first game for the Three Lionesses.
Agyemang made a strong message about her readiness to maintain her spot in the national squad by scoring a beautiful volley 45 seconds after Jessica Park was substituted in the 80th minute of the match.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Michelle Agyemang said the goal meant a lot to her.
“It means a lot to me, I am really grateful for the opportunity to come in, make my debut and score my first goal,” the forward said.
She continued, “We were unlucky with the result but I think this team put a lot of effort in and on another day that is three points. but I am really grateful for the opportunity.”
In her interview, Michelle Agyemang also promised that there is more to come from her.
“I think [best moment of her career] so far, but hopefully there is many more to come. There is a lot more, I just want to go out there, put the work in, score goals, help the team win games, and that is what I am here for,” she said.
