Stephen Appiah is confident Ghana is close to 2026 World Cup qualification
Following their strong performance in the qualifications, Stephen Appiah, a Black Stars management committee member, thinks Ghana is poised to earn a ticket in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana is now five points clear at the top of Group I after winning back-to-back games, first against Chad in Accra and then a convincing 3-0 victory against Madagascar. Appiah is certain the club is getting closer to qualifying with four games remaining.

“With the win yesterday, yes, we are almost there. When you look at the points, the matches left, and the performance our boys have shown, yes, we are almost there,” the former Ghana captain said to 3Sports
Ghana’s quest for a fifth World Cup appearance has been bolstered by their undefeated record in the qualifying tournament. They are comfortably ahead of their nearest competitors with 15 points.
As they get ready for the upcoming round of games in September, the Black Stars will be trying to keep up their performance and guarantee their spot in the international showcase.
