Ghana Esports Federation launches athlete registration drive

For all athletes within its control, the Ghana Esports Federation (GESF) has announced the beginning of an official registration process.

The project, which will take place online, is to build an accurate database and identity system for Esports athletes so they may compete in both domestic and international competitions.

Athletes competing in regional esports will be the first to register between August 20 and September 20, 2024. Subsequently, regional game centers from January 12 to February 12, 2025, and regional esports teams from October 10 to November 10, 2024, will register. Through www.ghanaesportsfederation.org, the GESF’s official website, athletes can finish their registration.

The GESF emphasized the importance of this exercise, stating that it will play a crucial role in informing policy development, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting the creation of regional Esports hubs tailored to community needs. This effort is seen as a significant step in advancing the development of Esports in Ghana.

“We entreat all Esports athletes to participate in this important exercise to build an effective database,” the GESF stated, underscoring its commitment to promoting a safe and healthy environment for all Esports activities in the country.

For further information or assistance with the registration process, athletes are encouraged to contact the GESF at 020 831 8237.
