GTV Sports+ secures exclusive rights to broadcast the Ghana Premier League for the next five seasons

The exclusive rights to broadcast the Ghana Premier League for the next five seasons have been acquired by state broadcaster GTV Sports+.

After a previous contract with the Chinese pay television network StarTimes, which had owned the broadcasting rights since 2020, ended, this agreement was reached.

Following the 2023–2024 football season, StarTimes’ contract, which included the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup, was not renewed.

Oyerepa FM says that GTV Sports+ has signed an agreement with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to become the exclusive broadcaster.

According to reports, the deal is worth USD 2 million US. It is anticipated to improve Ghanaian football coverage by providing top-notch broadcasts that include live matches, highlights, and in-depth analysis.

The Ghana Premier League would benefit greatly from this development since it guarantees local supporters access to their preferred clubs and games on a national scale.

Ghana Premier League fans can anticipate better coverage and a better viewing experience for the next five years with GTV Sports+ in charge of the league, which is scheduled to start on September 6, 2024–25.
