Late goals proved to be the difference in Dreamz Ladies’ and Savannah Ladies’ exciting wins in the Northern Zone of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
At Sunyani Coronation Park, Dreamz Ladies maintained their impressive play by defeating Prison Ladies 1-0. Both teams had a number of chances in the first half of the game, but Dreamz Ladies’ strong run this season was cemented when Yaa Abrafi scored a vital goal in the 80th minute.
Savannah Ladies also won in Tamale, defeating Supreme Ladies 2-0 to record their first victory of the season.
In the 76th minute, Shani Zeinab showed off her skills by scoring the first goal. Darajati Rafio Yussif then scored a second goal to give the team three points.
In the meantime, Northern Ladies defeated recently promoted Sung Shining Ladies 2-0 thanks to a dominant effort. A strong team effort by Wasima Mohammed gave the home team the lead early in the 13th minute, and Captain Doris Akaheeh doubled it in the 36th, guaranteeing a resounding victory.
