University of Ghana to host entire CAF African Schools Football Championship

The entire CAF African Schools Football Championship will be held at the University of Ghana.

The CAF African Schools Football Championship, which was set for April 21–26, 2025, will now occur at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram was originally scheduled to host the preliminary stages, while the University of Ghana Stadium would host the finals. Nevertheless, CAF has made the decision to consolidate the competition at a single location, relocating all games to the University of Ghana.

Better coordination and logistics for competing teams, authorities, and organizers are made possible by the move, which guarantees a single venue for the championship.

46 national school teams will compete in the tournament, including the hosts Ghana and the winners of the six CAF zones. With $300,000 going to the winning school, $200,000 to the runner-up, and $150,000 to the third-place finisher, the total prize fund is still $650,000.

The competition has been held in South Africa in 2023 and Tanzania in 2024, but this is the first time a West African nation is hosting it.
