With this achievement, the Western Region of Ghanaian football gains even more credibility as a dominant force, as it joins an exclusive group of areas that have produced numerous champions in a row.

Previously, the Greater Accra region had done so twice: in the 1970–1971 and 1973–1974 seasons, with Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics, respectively; in the 2010–2011 season, the Brong Ahafo region did the same with Aduana FC and Berekum Chelsea.

In fact, Samartex 1996 FC’s outstanding success confirms the Western Region’s rightful place among Ghana’s most prestigious footballing regions and showcases the growing football talent there.
